Organize
Start by calling Terri Dumas, PEDSs KidsWalk Director, at 404-522-3688. Terri will visit your school, assess the schools safety environment, and meet with you, the principal, and PTA president. You'll pick safe walking routes and which day (or days) to walk.About KidsWalk

Promote
PEDS will help you spread the word. Place an article in your school newsletter encouraging parents to walk their children to school on the chosen day. Get the principal and PTA to help with publicity. Use emails, flyers, banners and announcements to encourage participation.
